The stages of aluminium injection moulding production

From the aluminium ingot to the finished product.

Our presses operate in a fully automated, high quality, fast and reliable island. Our machine park is composed of 20 aluminium die-casting presses from 50T to 1600T, 11 digital machining centres, tribofinishing and shot-blasting machines. We produce small (<10mm), thin-walled (<1mm), massive (10Kg) and large (120cm) parts.

Aluminium ingots and scrap are melted in gas and electric furnaces at a temperature of 740°C. A sample is taken at each pour from the melting furnaces and spectrometric tests are carried out to ensure compliance with the specifications, the data is archived.

The resulting alloy is placed in a holding furnace where a ceramic ladle automatically removes the required amount of melt to produce the part.
The automated press closes the mould after blowing out both parts and applying a release agent. The bucket then fills the reservoir of the plunger which injects the aluminium melt into the mould.

The cast part goes from the liquidus to the solidus state quickly by a cooling of the mould and can then be removed from it by a robotic arm, which places it in a cutting press to eliminate the casting scrap which will be recycled in the process. The part is then recovered by the same arm to continue its various treatments.

An operator follows and carries out an initial check at this stage of the production process.

The parts, once checked, are subjected to a shot blasting machine, or tribo-finishing depending on the type of production, in order to eliminate burrs and obtain an excellent finish.

Depending on the specifications, the parts are transferred to the machining department in order to finalise the parts. The main machining operations are milling, turning, drilling, balancing and threading.

A subcontracted painting and anodising workshop offers a wide range of colour finishes. Depending on the parts to be produced, a pad printing station can be used to produce all types of motifs.

The parts obtained undergo a manual or digital control
